Rehabilitation Services

Rehabilitation Services at Jewish Convalescent Nursing HomeAt Courtland Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, formerly Jewish Convalescent & Nursing Home, we offer rehabilitation services so that our residents can have the best quality of life possible. Our licensed professionals treat our adults in an upbeat manner in caring surroundings.

We provide physical, occupational and speech therapy services and also have social work support.

Our team works together so that our residents have increased energy, improved independence and have to make fewer hospital returns over the long term.

Physical Therapy

The physical therapist is primarily concerned with the individual's mobility - the ability to move safely from place to place.

Motor skills are assessed. They include: range of motion, strength, coordination, balance, endurance, the ability to stand up and the ability to walk,

A program of exercise and activities is created according to each individual's needs. Equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers and canes, are evaluated, recommended when necessary.

Occupational Therapy

The occupational therapist uses tasks to make independence possible when it comes to the activities of daily living. This may include both physical and mental health needs.

Occupational therapy focuses on each person's ability to feed themselves, dress themselves, practice proper hygiene, coordinate their upper extremities and move themselves from to and from their beds.

Rehabilitation Services at Jewish Convalescent Nursing HomeAs an individual progresses, more complex activities such as meal preparation, money management, school and/or work related skills are evaluated.

Speech and Language Therapy

A speech and language therapist provides evaluates and treats communication challenges. They can include expressive, social and cognitive problems. These can include trouble with memory, attention and concentration, as well as swallowing difficulties.

Every person is evaluated and an appropriate course of action is designed and implemented to meet those needs.
