Heart Health & Lifestyle Screening

Heart disease is the number one cause of death for Americans. In light of that, LifeBridge Health created its Heart Health & Lifestyle Screening program, an offshoot of what was formerly our Women's Heart Program.

The program is now open to all adults 18 or older and offers low-cost screenings to members of our community to better assess their risk for heart disease.

During a screening, you'll meet with qualified health care professionals to identify any risk factors, as well as potential health issues that could affect your cardiovascular health.

However, this program is much more than a screening. The staff provides wellness education and health resources to help you make the necessary lifestyle changes to reduce your risk. They empower you to take the next steps toward a healthier you as you learn simple ways to change behaviors that can dramatically improve your health.

The heart screening includes:

  • Heart health awareness assessment
  • Complete metabolic blood profile
  • Cholesterol testing (HDL, LDL, triglycerides)
  • Glucose testing
  • Blood pressure
  • Body composition analysis
  • Brief education with a registered nurse
  • Free, two-week trial membership to LifeBridge Health & Fitness

A cardiologist will review screening results with certain risk factors at a later time.

Heart risk screenings are recommended for all adults who:

  • Are not currently seeing a cardiologist
  • Have not had a screening in the past year
  • Are 18 to 70 years of age

Kristel Donner, a heart screening participant.

"I wish more people would take advantage of this service," Kristel Donner, a heart screening participant says. "It's just a simple and fast way of getting information. It's a great community service. I did not know that my blood pressure was elevated."

For more information or to register for an upcoming Heart Health & Lifestyle Screening, call 410-601-WELL (9355).

Screenings are held at Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital and other convenient community locations. For a listing of screenings, please visit our community calendar.

If your results require follow-up or if you would like to take a more proactive role in your health care, we can recommend a cardiologist. Please call 410-601-WELL to schedule an appointment with our cardiologists.

If you have already been diagnosed with heart disease or are presently seeing a cardiologist, it is important that you refrain from being screened. Please continue working with your physician.
